The products in the ThreeBond 2300 and 2400 series are based on a technology developed to meet highly sophisticated requirements. The process is a special coating process in which resins are applied to the threads of screws or bolts replacing the need for liquid anaerobics, sealing tapes or liquid sealants.
In the MEC process, a microencapsulated, highly reactive sealing and locking agent is applied to the threads of screws, bolts, or pipes. The agent does not react until the part is tightened; then the microcapsules break, and the sealing and locking agent instantly polymerizes to prevent loosening or leaking.
